Ms. Tarnyal Darrell Mitchell, “T,” 57, of Chester, departed this life on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at McGuire Veteran’s Hospital, Richmond.

She was born on March 23, 1955 to James T. McCoy, Sr. of Hampton and Anne M. W. Scott of Hopewell, by whom she is still survived. Tarnyal was a graduate of Hampton High School in Hampton and St. Leo College.

Professionally, she proudly served her country as an information specialist with both the United States Army and Air Force.

Tarnyal was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Richmond.

Left to cherish her precious memory are: her son, LaMont L. Mitchell; brothers, A. Randy Scott, Michael A. Scott and James T. McCoy, Jr.; sisters, Jeanell E. Hernandez and Cynthia T. Scott Beckett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. All are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the service.
