Mr. Gregory Leon Richardson, 47, departed this life Monday, March 25, 2013, the Angel of death silenced the voice of our love one.
He was born on November 30, 1966, in Yale, Virginia to Woodrow Wilson Gilliam (Gee) and Florence Wyche.
Greg was a 1985 graduate from Sussex Central High School. Shortly after graduation, he relocated to Prince Georges County, Maryland, where is resided for 28 years until his homegoing. He recently worked at Audi of Alexandria in Virginia.
Greg was a loving, happy and quite spirited young man. He love to travel and would only travel if he was the driver. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved being with his family and friends. His acts of kindness left a great impression on everyone he has ever encountered.
Greg was preceded in death by, his grandmother, Claire Richardson; grandfathers, Wilson Gilliam and Willie Jones; brother, Eugene Richardson and uncle, William Richardson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his mother, Florence Wyche of Hopewell, VA; father, Woodrow Wilson Gilliam (Gee) of Yale, VA; brothers, James and Frankie Richardson of Petersburg, VA; sister, Angela Richardson of Hopewell, VA; sister/cousin, Caitlyn Gilliam of District Heights, MD; grandmother, Elsie Gilliam of Waverly, VA; great aunt, Susie Gilliam of Waverly, VA; ten aunts; Janice Artist and Queen Ellworth of Hopewell, VA; Joyce Ricks (Windell), Larose Moore and Brenda Woodham (Monroe) of Richmond, VA; Mary Moore and Mittie Davis of Philadelphia, PA; Ollie Colbert of Oklahoma; Gladys Reed of Waverly, VA; Dorothy G. illiam of District Heights, MD; six uncles, Jesse Gilliam (Inez), Montaque Gilliam and George Gilliam all of Waverly, VA; Larry Gilliam and Jerry Moore (Janice) of Richmond, VA; Joseph Moore of Philadelphia, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Turner-Bland Chapel,Hopewell; Bishop Thomas Adkins, officiate. The interment will follow at Cargill Family Cemetery, Sussex County, Va. The family will assemble one hour prior to service at 2303 Dublin St. Hopewell.
