Our hearts were saddened on Friday, March 8, 2013 by the passing of our love one, Raymond “Hook” Hicks, Jr.
Raymond “Hook” Hicks, Jr., age 48, of 323 Myrtle Drive, Petersburg, Va, departed this life at John Randolph Medical Center.

He was the son of Catherine and Raymond Hicks of Emporia, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, Hicks, Sr., brother, Anthony Antonio McNair and a sister, Angela Olivia Hicks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Catherine M. Collins and Step-father, Rev. Clayton Collins, Jr.; two sons, Raymond Delenia and Rashad Deleniz both of Chesterfield; sister, Aletha McNair; brother, Clinton A. Hicks both of Petersburg; grandmother, Hannah McNair of Petersburg, five aunts, Mary Ann Harrison of Emporia, Va., Margaret McNair of Petersburg, Eloise Stevenson, of Petersburg, Patricia Hill (Wayne) of Prince George, and Francis McNair of Roanoke Rapids, NC; eight uncles, Herbert Collins (Gloria) of Washington, DC, Rufus McNair of Petersburg, Cecil McNair (Phyllis)of Chesterfield, Bernard McNair of West Virginia, Larry McNair (Alice) of Chesterfield, Michael McNair (Lucille) of Chesterfield, Jeffrey McNair of Petersburg, Tyrone McNair (Felicia) of Newport News, a devoted nephew Delano A. McNair, Jr. of Petersburg, VA.; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends amongst the friends devoted, Edward Bellamy (Colt 45).

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, with Min. Robert Williams, officiating, Rev. Sylvia Wright, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Petersburg, VA.

There will be a wake in the Chapel of William N. Bland & Son from 6 to 8 on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence 10:00 A.M. the day of the service. Arrangements entrusted to the staff of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, Rev. Antonio A. Tucker, Funeral Director.
