A Message From our President

My grandfather, Deacon William N. Bland, Sr., despite tremendous odds and setbacks, established our family funeral home on June 15, 1952. In a racially timid climate, he single handedly managed to grow his business successfully. I admire my grandfather's tenacity, hardwork and dedication. His desire was to serve the families of the city of Petersburg and surrounding areas with the utmost of care and respect during their hour of bereavement. He also wanted to create a legacy for his family that would continue down throughout generations. My father, Rev. William N. Bland, Jr. and mother, the late Mrs. Doris B. Bland, the second generation, carried the torch that paved the way for the third generation to lead the way today. My grandfather and both of my parents set standards of excellence that we, the third generation, are committed to continuing. We are doing all that we can to not only meet expectations, but to exceed them. It is an absolute honor whenever a family calls on us to handle funeral services for their loved one. We pride ourselves on personal touches and quality services to accommodate all of those whom we serve. "Where Courtesy Dwells and Service Excels"

Respectfully Submitted, Nickia Bland Johnson, President
